Dr. Maikel Pons-Giralt is a Cuban professor and researcher, residing in Brazil, specializing in ethnic-racial relations, intercultural education, and sociopolitical transformations in Latin America. He holds a PhD in Education from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2021). He serves as Visiting Professor at the Graduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Sergipe and as a CAPES Fellow at the University of Santa Cruz do Sul. His research focuses on antiracist education, transitions in the Global South, pluriversal approaches, and the decolonization of knowledge. He engages in academic networks and interdisciplinary projects on education, sustainability and social justice.
