Dr. Holmes – USA

Dr. Holmes has been PI on 2 NIH Grants (EARDA and Bridges) and Co-PI on 2 NSF grants (Partnerships for Innovation, and ATE). In addition I have had numerous biotechnology grants through the North Carolina Biotechnology Center and North Carolina Space Grant. I have been teaching bioprocessing and other biotechnology courses at UNC Pembroke for 25 years. I was on the team that planned and built the UNCP Biotechnology Research and Training Center and given the honor to “cut the ribbon” on March 13, 2009. My research is based at the Sartorius-stedim Fermentation Lab, at the Center. I have directed or collaborated with undergraduates, teachers, community college instructors, post-doctoral students and visiting international scientists. I have contributed to a fermentation technology training manual used in an IARI National Training Program, Delhi 2011. Many of my collaborations have resulted in peer-reviewed publications.

Tiffany Boury – USA

Tiffany Boury is an Associate Professor at Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio USA. Her research interests are in the importance of providing opportunities for teachers to study abroad and experiencing the pedagogy of culturally relevant teaching. In 2017, she returned from a semester in Austria where she served as a visiting faculty member and worked with Austrian school partnerships created during her doctoral studies. A second school partnership that will afford Franciscan graduates the opportunity to assist with English instruction in Kowloon, Hong Kong classrooms. A team of five will begin this new program August 2018 and was recently named director of the University’s Leadership program.  Tiffany received her bachelor’s degree from West Liberty University, her Masters of Education from Walden University and her PhD in Instructional Management and Leadership from Robert Morris University. In 2017, she was named recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award from Franciscan University and Associate Editor for the European Scientific Journal.

Angelo Viglianisi Ferraro is Aggregate Professor and Dean’s Proxy for International Affairs at the Department of Law and Economics of the “Mediterranea” University of Reggio Calabria, Italy where he is also the Director of a LL. M. in European Private Law and of the “Mediterranea International Centre for Human Rights Research” (www.michr.unirc.it). He was a speaker at conferences, seminars and round tables, and an invited lecturer (for students and PhD candidates) in over 70 foreign universities in Europe, South America and China. He is an author of 2 books and coauthor of 5 books. He has also published numerous articles on civil liability, consumer law, family law, and fundamental rights.

Istvan Sandor – Hungary

István Sándor is associate professor of law at the Faculty of Law of Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest since 2005. He is also associate professor at the Faculty of Law of Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Budapest since 2004, where he served as the Head of the Department of Civil Law between 2004 and 2012. He is also a practising lawyer and partner of Kelemen, Mészáros, Sándor and Partners Law office in Budapest since 1998. He graduated as a political scientist in 1997. He visited several universities (Trier, Göttingen, Padua, Groningen, Vienna, Berlin, Helsinki, Urbino, Brno) and research centres, such as Leopold-Wenger-Institute für Rechtsgeschichte (München), Institut suisse de droit comparé (Lausanne), Max-Planck-Institut für Ausländisches und Internationales Privatrecht (Hamburg), Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (London) as research fellow or visiting lecturer. He is member of the International Bar Association (IBA), Interlegal, International Federation of European Law (FIDE), Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), Selden Society and several Hungarian law and scientific associations. He published several books and articles in company law, trust law, legal history and civil law.

Mondira Dutta – India

Mondira Dutta, PhD, is currently the Chairperson of Centre for Inner Asian Studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. She has been the Director of UGC Central Asia Area Studies Programme for three consecutive terms. She has been actively involved in teaching and research activities for over three decades.Her fields of specialization include Gender & Human Security with particular reference to Violence against Women in South Asia, Afghanistan and Central Asia, Impact Studies and Child Labor. She has been the former Chairperson of the ‘Gender Sensitization Committee against Sexual Harassment’ (GSCASH), Jawaharlal Nehru University (2008). She was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, at the International Congress of Women for Justice, Equality, Peace and Progress, sponsored jointly by United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan, Govt of India, FICCI and The India Today Group, New Delhi, on 7th March 2009.She has been a UN Women consultant from 2009 to 2013 and also been a Consultant to several national and international organizations. To name a few include the British Council, Ford Foundation, NOVIB (The Netherlands), the DFID, The World Bank, International Human Rights Commission, Geneva, Human Rights Commission (Maldives), UNESCO, UN Women (South Asia), besides the government of India’s Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Women and Child Development and the National Commission for Women.The National Strategy on anti–trafficking measures, from Aug 2011 to Dec 2011. During the period her study ‘Understanding Gender Equality, 2012’ was published by the National Commission for Women, Govt of India and released on 13 March 2012. She has been a guest researcher at the Stockholm University, Sweden, for a period of one month from September – October 2012 for research and lectures.

Edward A. Gotfried – USA

Dr. Edward A. Gotfried D.O., FACOS, Distinguished Surgeon and Educator, is an Associate Professor of Surgery and the Director of the Center for Global Health at the New York Institute of Technology, (NYIT).. He is the recent Chair of the Department of Specialty Medicine at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine where he also held the position of Coordinator of International Medicine of Ohio University.In 2007 Dr. Gotfried helped establish the NYIT Center for Global Health, an Interdisciplinary Center of Excellence. The Center for Global Health sponsors a multidisciplinary program that includes international conferences; establishing research and community service clerkships for NYIT COM & Health Profession students in other countries; and research efforts involving many of the schools of NYIT (i.e. Health Professions, Engineering, & Education), to address global medical concerns. The Center has established Outreach projects in Ghana, El Salvador, Belize, Haiti, and Costa Rica, and soon Nanjing, China and Ethiopia.

Kevin O’Connor – Canada

Dr. Kevin O’Connor is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education and Schooling, Faculty of Teaching and Learning at Mount Royal University, Canada. He has received a B.Ed., an M.A. in Curriculum Studies and a Ph.D. in Education from McGill University. He has taught in elementary and secondary schools for 15 years and as an educational administrator was responsible for integrated experiential science programs in the Yukon Territory, Canada. Kevin was a Visiting Professor at both McGill University and the University of Ottawa and acted as a Senior Policy Advisor to the Federal Government of Canada on Aboriginal education issues. Much of his current research and publications are based on the synthesis of multi-sensory pedagogy and interdisciplinary curriculum through the integration of experiential and place-based learning, science field studies and Aboriginal education and how these effective inclusive pedagogical practices can support teacher education through a balance of theory and practice.Dr. O’Connor sits as an Advisory Board member on the Canadian Research Institute for Social Policy, GLOBE-NASA International Science Education Group and The Paulo and Nita Freire International Center for Critical Pedagogy.

Dr. Billy Adamsen is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Leadership & Corporate Strategy, University Of Southern Copenhagen, Denmark. Since 1995, Dr. Adamsen has held different research and teaching positions at the different universities in Denmark.
