Dr Oboh Satur Okosun is a geographer and geospatial scientist whose work bridges GIS, remote sensing, environmental analysis, and sustainable land management. He holds a PhD in Geography from Bangor University, United Kingdom, where his research examined how landscape fragmentation and climate change shape ecosystem service provision across dynamic environments. His expertise spans land‑use change modelling, ecosystem services, ecological resilience, biodiversity conservation, and the integration of geospatial technologies.
With over a decade of academic, research, and industry experience, Dr Oboh has contributed to multidisciplinary projects across Nigeria, the United Kingdom, and international research networks. He has published extensively on landscape dynamics, ecosystem services, and geospatial applications, and serves as a peer reviewer for international journals. His professional background includes roles as a lecturer, GIS analyst, consultant, and project coordinator, where he has led geospatial analyses, developed innovative mapping solutions, and supported environmental decision-making.
Dr Oboh is passionate about advancing land- use change, landscape fragmentation, ecosystem services, nature‑based solutions, climate‑resilient food systems, and coupled human–environment research. He is a member of several global professional bodies, including the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the American Association of Geographers (AAG), and the British Ecological Society (BES).
